Hawaii Real Property Tax information

Hawaii Real Property Taxes in Hawaii vary by County. As of July 30, 2018, the current Hawaii Tax rates are listed below. These rates may change every year and depend on your residential circumstances. The rate you pay also depends on the tax assessed value of the home. For instance in Honolulu, a home that is tax assessed at $1,000,000 and is owned by a person residing outside of the State of Hawaii would be charged at the Residential A, Tier 2 tax rate of $9.00/$1,000 of the taxable value of the property. So in this instance that non-resident owner would pay $9,000/year or $750/month.

Hawaii also has certain tax exemptions that may apply to owner occupied residential housing.
