Hawaii Real Property Tax information

Hawaii Real Property Taxes in Hawaii vary by County. As of July 30, 2019, the current Hawaii Tax rates are listed below. These rates may change every year and depend on your residential circumstances. The rate you pay also depends on the tax assessed value of the home. For instance in Honolulu, a home that is tax assessed at $1,500,000 and is owned by a person who is NOT a resident of the State of Hawaii, would be charged at the Residential A, Tier 1 tax rate of $4.50/$1,000 for the first $1,000,000 of their tax assessed value of the property and then the Residential A Tier 2 tax rate of $10.50/$1,000 of the anything over the $1,000,000 taxable value of the property.

Hawaii also has certain tax exemptions that may apply to owner occupied residential housing.
